Outdoor Therapies
The outdoor therapy space has emerged as a necessity to diversify the range of services, but also to meet the permanent needs of beneficiaries and their families to develop therapeutic programs that cover a wide variety of living environments.
In order to increase the quality of life of our beneficiaries, we have adapted and set up the terrace in a space for outdoor therapies, in the form of a playground, where the specialists of the Center organize integrated therapeutic activities between children or young people with disabilities and typical children or young people.
Outdoor activities play an important role in the harmonious and healthy development of the child. In an age when television and computers are increasingly dominating the life of the child and attracting them into the mesh of sedentary life, outdoor activities are a real solution to which both parents and specialists deserve to appeal. In general, physical activity and outdoor games have a strong impact on his emotional and social development as well as on his behavior. The outdoor play helps the child to make new friends and to develop his life socially, being a powerful tool of socialization.
The terrace includes a complex sensory route and special equipment for outdoor activities (bridge – wooden path, mini – stepper, static mini – bicycle, slide, swings, trampoline, writing / working tables etc.). Also, the whole space is decorated and arranged to stimulate the children’s senses, being suitable for the different activities of socialization, sensory stimulation and therapy through combined arts.
All of these activities have consequences: establishing a closer therapeutic relationship, avoiding the routine in the recovery program, which is often long-lasting, raising the awareness of the community about the difficulties that people with disabilities face and their better integration into society.
We mention that this space was realized thanks to the financial support offered by different companies in Switzerland, the entire campaign to raise the necessary funds being under the direct coordination of Mr. Andreas Kumin.
